It's so much fun to read our mail, and we thought we would share some of the colorful feedback we have received…

I just received the Oboe from Fed Ex, and I needed to tell you that I am in complete awe of the work you have done on it. I would not have ever recognized it! I seriously checked the serial number just to be sure you hadn’t sent the wrong instrument by mistake. It looks brand new -- you’d never know it is a 30 year old instrument! I wouldn’t have been able to even find where the crack was, if I hadn’t known exactly where it was. In fact my husband couldn’t find it. It just looks beautiful! I am looking forward to playing it, just giving it a little time to acclimate. Thank you so very much.

Nora: Now, the oboe is playing better than ever. Everything is playing clearly and the low notes are a dream. It is fun to play. And now, all three of my instruments—the oboe, the RIEC English horn, and the Heckel bassoon—are doing great and we’re a happy family once again. I need to get a life. Thanks.

I can’t thank you enough for the excellent repair work that you did on my oboe and English horn, especially the oboe. It’s like a brand new instrument. I didn’t even recognize it when I opened the case. It plays like it’s brand new. Thank you again.

I want to thank you for your work. You really weren’t bragging when you said the oboe would be transformed. It is true: the oboe is now like new, I mean really like new. I almost can’t tell that it is my Marigaux. Not only are the mechanics flawless, but I can’t remember the last time I could play the low register with ease. You did a fabulous job and your salary is worth it.

What you have done to my oboe is absolutely incredible. This is a GREAT oboe—now. It sure wasn’t before! Thank you!

Thank you so much for all your trouble. I was playing my English horn last night, doing the pretty solos from Rodrigo’s Concerto Aranjuez thinking how much happiness you’ve brought me!

This is your crazy customer Kevin. I got yet another swab stuck in my Rigoutat. This was annoying as I was starting to swab and the Jehovah’s Witnesses were beating on the door and I pulled too hard on the swab to get it done quickly to answer the door. By the time I opened the door, I was so annoyed/furious that I’m sure it was the LEAST civil greeting they received all day!

Anyway, if you could schedule me in, I’m sure my Rigoutat would love to see its favorite repairperson once again.

Just a note to let you know that my oboe arrived in perfect condition and Thank You SOOO much for taking it and working your magic on it. It is truly so much nicer to play and sounds great! I wish I had known about you years ago. Thanks Again!

All I can say is “Yowza!” I can’t believe how much better the oboe sounds. The intonation is much better and now my biggest problem is unlearning all the tricks I used to do to get everything to play!

You are a real magician. I can't believe that the oboe is really this good. It never played the way it does now, after your miraculous work. It has been years since I have felt so comfortable playing the oboe, but also permit me to boast a little! I have had so many people telling me I sound GREAT since I started playing the newly repaired instrument. On the other hand, maybe I have finally learned how to play the oboe!

We received the oboe at 4:30 yesterday. By 5:00 Laura Don was at home playing it & she says it's perfect! Thank you so much for all that you did. I don't know of anywhere else that we could get such fast & kind service. When we purchased the oboe from you, one of the reasons we did so was so that we could depend on you for repairs. At that time, we were trying to plan ahead, but didn't realize how important your knowledge & expertise were. Now we do. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

I learned more about the oboe talking to you this week than I have known in my entire life. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you. You are truly a class act!

Some years ago we purchased an oboe from you for our son, who loves the instrument and is playing it in the orchestra at Georgetown University.
